Abstract

Dural arteriovenous fistula (dAVF) is a rare vascular malformation, connecting the artery to the dural venous sinus or cortical vein. The main treatment is vascular intervention to embolize the malformation. However, in some cases, surgery still plays a decisive role in completely eliminating the malformation, minimizing complications and adverse events for patients. Especially for dAVF located in the cerebral hemisphere, surgical intervention is safe and effective. We describe a case of complex dAVF in the left hemisphere, which was embolized first and then surgically removed the entire malformation. Conclusion: Surgery is one of the methods that contributes to the treatment and elimination of dAVF, with good patient selection, it will give good surgical results, leaving few sequelae.
