EVALUATION OF RESPONSE TO NEOADJUVANT CHEMORADIOTHERAPY FOR ESOPHAGEAL CANCER USING COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY

Abstract

A study was conducted on 83 patients diagnosed with stage II and III esophageal cancer. The patients underwent neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy before surgical tumor resection. Multislice computed tomography (MSCT) with intravenous contrast was performed at two time points: before treatment and 4–6 weeks after completing neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy. Based on tumor and lymph node size changes assessed using RECIST 1.1 software, 88% of cancer cases showed partial or complete response, while 12% had stable or progressive disease.
