Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: Describing the clinical and paraclinical characteristics and the relationship between pathology and disease characteristics patients diagnosed with gastrointestinal stromal tumors (Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors - GISTs) treated at the Military Hospital. 175. Subjects and methods: Retrospective cross-sectional study on 31 patients diagnosed with gastrointestinal stromal tumor treated at Military Hospital 175 from January 2022 to September 2024. Chi square test between mitotic index, histological characteristics and metastatic status showed p = 0.379 and p = 0.371, respectively. Conclusion: Gastrointestinal stromal tumors are common in men, aged between 40-60, and the most common location is the stomach. There is no relationship between mitotic index, histological grade and metastatic status.
