ENDOSCOPY-ASSISTED TRANSORAL RESECTION OF PARAPHARYNGEAL SPACE TUMORS: A CASE SERIES AND LITERATURE REVIEW
Main Article Content
Abstract
Introduction: Several approaches have been described for the excision of parapharyngeal space tumors. With recent advancements in endoscopic techniques, endoscopy-assisted transoral surgery for these tumors has become increasingly utilized. Objectives: We present our experience with the transoral endoscopic approach for the removal of parapharyngeal space tumors. Materials and methods: A case series of patients with parapharyngeal space tumors who underwent transoral endoscopic surgery is reported, along with a review of the literature. Results: All three patients with parapharyngeal space tumors underwent complete transoral endoscopic tumor resection without intraoperative or postoperative complications. The average hospital stay was 7 days, and no cases of recurrence have been detected. Conclusion: Endoscopy-assisted transoral surgery is a safe and effective approach for managing parapharyngeal space tumors in appropriately selected patients.
