DENTINE HYPERSENSITIVITY AND RISK FACTORS IN PATIENS AT PATIENTS AT THE MAXILLOFACIAL DEPARTMENT, HADONG GENERAL HOSPITAL, 2023 – 2024

Abstract

A survey was conducted on 120 patients at the Maxillofacial Department, Hadong General Hospital. Results: Among 120 patients, 37.5% were male and 62.5% were female. The overall prevalence of dentin hypersensitivity was 62.5%. The highest prevalence of dentin hypersensitivity was observed in the age group of 30-50 (32.5%), followed by >50 age group (27.5%), and <30 age group had a prevalence of only 2.5%. The study results showed statistically significant differences among age groups, degree of cervical erosion, and loss of attachment. Risk factors included age, consumption of carbonated beverages, and consumption of acidic foods.
