Abstract

Objective: To describe the clinicopathological characteristics and treatment outcomes of patients with stage cT1N0M0 differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) managed with the transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy vestibular approach (TOETVA) at Hanoi Medical University Hospital. Materials and Methods: This descriptive longitudinal study included 270 patients with stage cT1N0M0 DTC who underwent TOETVA between January 2019 and December 2024. Results: Women comprised 84.8% of the cohort, with a mean age of 34.8 ± 8.1 years. The mean tumor diameter was 7.2 ± 3.2mm. Occult central lymph-node metastasis was identified post-operatively in 42.6% of patients. After a mean follow-up of 30.6 ± 13.5 months, the 3-year disease-free survival rate was 96.7%. Conclusion: TOETVA is a safe and effective surgical option for patients with stage cT1N0M0 differentiated thyroid carcinoma.
