ASSOCIATION BETWEEN SINGLE NUCLEOTIDE POLYMORPHISMS OF TNF ALPHA GENE AND HEMOLOGICAL INFLAMMATORY INDICATORS IN PSORIASIS VULGARIS
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: To investigate the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms of the TNF alpha gene and hematological inflammatory indices in patients with psoriasis vulgaris. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 135 Vietnamese patients of Kinh ethnicity at Hospital of Dermato-Vereneology of Ho Chi Minh City from January 2023 to June 2023. Results: The TT genotype frequency of SNP rs1799964 was 60.7%, more than double that of the TC genotype at 31.1% while the CC genotype had the lowest rate of 8.2%. The SII index had a median value of 583.07 K/µl with an interquartile range of 325.84 K/µl. The median values of NLR, MLR and ELR were 1.99, 0.28, 0.07 and the interquartile ranges were 1.16, 0.14 and 0.11, respectively. The mean value of PLR was 119.66 ± 41.78. The CT genotype of SNP rs1799724 accounted for only 10.4% and no TT genotype was detected. There was a statistically significant association between SNP rs1799964 and SII (P = 0.013), NLR (P = 0.012) as well as between SNP rs1799724 and ELR (P = 0.049). Conclusion: There is an association between SNP rs1799964 and SII, NLR as well as between SNP rs1799724 and ELR. This suggests that the SNP may be associated with changes in systemic inflammation in psoriasis patients.
