Tóm tắt
Introduction: Workplace violence against healthcare workers is increasingly becoming a global phenomenon, with growing causes and consequences. In Vietnam, however, there is a notable lack of research describing effective prevention strategies. Objective: To describe the causes, consequences, and preventive measures for violence against healthcare workers at the HCMC Hospital for Rehabilitation – Professional Diseases in 2025. Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted from June to September 2025 on 209 healthcare workers employed at the Hospital for Rehabilitation and Occupational Diseases. Descriptive statistics, including frequencies and percentages, were used to present the findings. Results: The majority of incidents involving violence against healthcare workers stem from patients or their family members having to wait for extended periods (82.8%), heightened emotional sensitivity (81.3%), understaffing (74.6%), and ineffective communication (71.8%). Such violence has led to severe psychological consequences and has negatively impacted professional commitment. The most commonly proposed solutions include increasing staffing levels (87.6%), enhancing security measures (78.9%), and implementing stricter access control to hospital premises (76.6%). Conclusion: Violence against healthcare workers is a multifactorial issue with profound consequences, requiring comprehensive intervention. Identifying causes, consequences, and proposing specific solutions is essential for healthcare facilities to build a safe and stable working environment, effectively protecting the healthcare workforce.
