THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BLOOD LIPID PARAMETERS AND ALBUMIN, BILIRUBIN, AND INR INDICES IN PATIENTS WITH LIVER CIRRHOSIS TREATED AT THAI BINH GENERAL HOSPITAL

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the relationship between blood lipid indices (Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL-C, and LDL-C) and Albumin, Bilirubin, and INR in cirrhosis patients treated at Thai Binh General Hospital. Subjects and Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted on 116 cirrhosis patients at Thai Binh General Hospital from January to November 2025. Blood lipid indices, BMI, Albumin, Bilirubin, and INR were collected from medical records and analyzed for correlations. Patients were classified according to the Child-Pugh score (A, B, C) to compare blood lipid indices between the groups. Results: Cholesterol and Triglycerides had high maximum values, indicating dyslipidemia in cirrhosis patients. Albumin levels < 35 g/l showed a strong correlation with Cholesterol and HDL-C (p < 0.05), while BMI had no clear correlation with lipid indices. Bilirubin was correlated with Cholesterol (p = 0.031), but showed no significant correlation with other lipid indices. INR had a significant correlation with all blood lipid indices (p < 0.05). Lipid indices were strongly correlated with the Child-Pugh score (p < 0.001). Conclusion: The correlation between blood lipid indices and nutritional factors, Bilirubin, and INR highlights the impact of Albumin and INR on lipid status in cirrhosis patients. Bilirubin only affects Cholesterol, while the Child-Pugh score has a strong correlation with lipid indices.
