EVALUATION OF TREATMENT RESULTS IN COLORECTAL CANCER WITH BOWEL OBTRUCTION COMPLICATIONS

Abstract

Objective: Evaluation of treatment results in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) with bowel obstruction complications. Patients and methods: Retrospective cohort study. From January 2017 to December 2020, 60 patients were diagnosed with bowelobstruction due tocolorectal cancer in K hospital. The patientswere evaluated for surgical strategies and complications, Disease –free survival and overall survival. Results: 100% of patients underwent radical surgery. One-stage anastomosis rates for right and left colon cancers are 100% and 50%, respectively. The rate of postoperative complications was 23.3%. Disease-free survival and overall survival at 3 years and 5 years were 82.4% and 61.5%, respectively; 84.2% and 78.2%. Conclusions: Radical surgery for colorectal cancer patients with bowel obstruction complications is safe, achieving a high rate of radical surgery, low complications and controllability
