HEALTH BEHAVIORS OF PUPILS AGE 13-17 YEAR-OLD IN HOANG MAI AND ME LINH DISTRICT IN HANOI

Abstract

Background: Middle and high school pupils are the basic age to have awareness about their health behavior. Therefore, health interventions at this age are a premise towards increasing the general health of the entire population. Objectives: Describe the health behaviors of pupils age 13-17 year old in Hoang Mai and Me Linh districts, Hanoi in 2022. Methods: Cross-sectional survey. Results: 501 students aged 13-17 participated in the survey. The results show that, some behaviors are beneficial to pupils' health: No drinking carbonated water (65,9%); No drinking beer (61,9%); No smoking (90,2%); Washing hands before eating (97,4%); Washing hands after going to the toilet (98,6%); No having sex (97,6%); No participated in fights (94,0%). Some behaviors are harmful to spupils' health: Drinking carbonated soft drinks in this product (34,1%); Use fast food at least 3 days within 1 week (12,6%); Feeling lonely (51,5%); Anxiety, suicidal thoughts (86,2%).
