Abstract

Objective: Comparing the level of postoperative healing between two groups using the condylar flap and the triangular flap in surgery to remove impacted wisdom teeth in the lower jaw classified according to Parant II at the Department of Odonto-Stomatology, Bach Mai Hospital in 2023. Method: 80 patients who came to have wisdom teeth removed according to Parant II and III classifications at the Odonto-Stomatology Department of Bach Mai Hospital from September to November 2023were randomly divided into two groups using envelope flaps and triangular flaps. Research variables include age-gender; painful; swelling; mouth opening range; bleeding after surgery. Results: The age of patients accounting for the highest rate of RKHD extraction surgery according to Parant II is the group of patients from 18-24 years old and there is no difference between men and women. The average surgical time when using the condylar flap was lower than that in the group using the triangular flap, but there was no difference in complications during tooth extraction in the two study groups. The primary healing rate of the group using the triangular flap was clearly higher than the group using the capsular flap. Conclusion: The age of patients undergoing RKHD extraction surgery according to Parant II is young and there is no difference between men and women. The surgical time using the condylar flap was shorter than that of the triangular flap, but there was no difference in complications during tooth extraction in the two study groups. The primary healing rate of the group using the triangular flap was clearly higher than the group using the capsular flap.
