EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF MANAGEMENT TO IMPROVE INDEPENDENT LIVING FUNCTION ON SUBJECTS WITH MOBILITY DISABILITY IN HO CHI MINH CITY

Abstract
Background: Evaluating the results of managing people with disabilities is also necessary in medical management. Objectives: Evaluate the effectiveness of improving independent living functions on people with mobility disabilities in Ho Chi Minh city. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on people with disabilities participating in a rehabilitation program in a project on people with disabilities in Ho Chi Minh city. Results: The FIM scale of the study group improved from 81 (45-102.5) to 90 (54-111) points. Statistically significant relationship between the effectiveness of improving independent living function with age group, education level, occupation, disability level, injury time, desire to practice, and practice space (p<0,05). Conclusions: There is a significant improvement in functional capacity for independent living in subjects with mobility disabilities before and after treatment.
