EVALUATE THE RESULTS OF PRENATAL SCREENING AT BAC NINH OBSTETRICS AND PEDIATRICS HOSPITAL

Abstract

Prenatal screening for pregnant women plays a very important role in maternal and child health care, in order to improve population quality. Objective: Evaluate the results of prenatal screening for pregnant women who were examined at Bac Ninh Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. Subjects and methods: 1319 pregnant women with gestational period more than 10 week came for examination and pregnancy management at the Center for Prenatal Screening and Diagnosis, Bac Ninh Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, during the period from January 2021 to December 2024. Results: 100% of pregnant women performed ultrasound, the number of pregnant women performed ultrasound combined with double test, triple test and NIPT were 51.6%, 10% and 38.4% respectively, of which, the number of pregnant women at high risk on ultrasound was 2.05%, for double test, triple test and NIPT were 0.15%, 0.79% and 4.6% respectively. Conclusion: The study evaluated the prenatal screening results for pregnant women at Bac Ninh Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. Prenatal screening results serve as a basis for genetic counseling and subsequent prenatal diagnosis, simultaneously contributing to reducing the rate of fetal congenital malformations and perinatal mortality.
