Mục tiêu: Tìm hiểu mối liên quan giữa nồng độ NT-proBNP và chỉ số thể tích nhĩ trái (Left atrial volume index - LAVI) ở bệnh nhân rung nhĩ không do bệnh van tim. Đối tượng và phương pháp: Nghiên cứu được tiến hành theo phương pháp mô tả cắt ngang trên 71 bệnh nhân rung nhĩ mạn tính không do bệnh van tim. Bệnh nhân vào viện được làm xét nghiệm NT-proBNP bằng phương pháp ELISA và siêu âm tim qua thành ngực đánh giá chỉ số thể tích nhĩ trái. Từ các số liệu thu thập được tìm mối tương quan giữa nồng độ NT-proBNP và LAVI. Kết quả: NT-proBNP có mối tương quan đồng biến mức độ chặt chẽ với LAVI với r= 0.529, p<0.001.Từ mối tương quan chặt chẽ đó, nồng độ NT-proBNP ≥1143 pg/ml giúp dự báo nhĩ trái giãn có ý nghĩa vớI LAVI ≥34ml/ m2 da, với diện tích dưới đường cong AUC bằng 0.822 (p=0.000), độ nhạy là 81.8% và độ đặc hiệu là 87.7%.
