Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of the Angio-Seal vascular closure device in patients undergoing lower extremity arterial intervention. Methods: A prospective descriptive study was conducted on 47 patients who underwent lower extremity arterial intervention via common femoral artery access at Huu Nghi Hospital (February-December 2025). Outcomes included technical success rate, time to hemostasis, time to ambulation, and complications within 24 hours and at 30 days (clinical examination, Doppler ultrasound, ankle-brachial index). Results: Technical success rate was 100%. Mean time to hemostasis was 2.1 ± 0.5 minutes; mean time to ambulation was 3.5 ± 0.7 hours. Minor hematoma occurred in 2 patients (4.2%); no major complications were observed. At 30 days, mean ABI significantly improved (0.84 ± 0.14 vs. 0.48 ± 0.11 pre-intervention, p < 0.05); Doppler ultrasound showed no significant stenosis or flow abnormalities. Conclusion: Angio-Seal is safe and highly effective for hemostasis, reduces time to ambulation, and demonstrates favorable mid-term vascular outcomes.
