Truyền máu đang chuyển từ cách tiếp cận dựa chủ yếu vào ngưỡng xét nghiệm và cấp phát chế phẩm sang lựa chọn liệu pháp theo nhu cầu chức năng, nguy cơ và bệnh cảnh của từng người bệnh. Tổng quan này trình bày cơ sở và thực hành truyền máu cá thể hóa, gồm quản lý máu người bệnh, chỉ định theo chức năng cần điều chỉnh, phân tầng nguy cơ miễn dịch, lựa chọn chế phẩm theo bệnh cảnh, cá thể hóa liều và tốc độ, theo dõi đáp ứng và cảnh giác truyền máu. Bài viết cũng đề xuất phối hợp giữa bệnh viện và cơ sở cung cấp máu, liên thông dữ liệu và ứng dụng công nghệ số nhằm nâng cao hiệu quả và an toàn truyền máu.
