CLINICAL AND SUBCLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THORACOLUMBAR VERTEBRAE COMPRESSION PATIENTS DUE TO OSTEOPOROSIS

Abstract

Objective: To describe clinical and paraclinical features of thoracolumbar collapse vertebrae patients due to osteoporosis. Methods: This is a descriptive study of 71 patients. Results: 100% is the proportion of patients with back pain in the damaged area and spinal restrict motive. Before surgery, the average VAS was 7.1 ± 1.6. Besides, the percentage of patients who osteoporosis and thoracolumbar collapse vertebrae were 56.3% and 59.2%, respectively. The percentage of vertebrae with fracture lines was 39.4%. The average T-score of patients was -3.6 ± 0.8. Conclusion: All patients have prolonged back pain (the VAS point was 5-10), restrict motive at different levels and severe osteoporosis. All patients have the bone marrow edema image on MRI results.
