Abstract

Objective: Describe the current status of knowledge and attitude to handle sharp thing injuries of nursing students, University of Medicine and Pharmacy-VNU in 2022. Subjects and methods of research: Cross-sectional description on subjects who are 1st to 3rd year nursing students studying at University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Vietnam National University in school year 2022-2023. Results: Percentage of students with knowledge handling injuries caused by sharp objects in clinical practice is 28,7%. Meanwhile, the percentage of students with wrong injury handling knowledge accounted for 71,3%. 65,7% have a good attitude about handling sharp objects in clinical practice while 34,3% have a bad attitude. Conclusion: It seems that the majority of students have incorrect knowledge about handling injuries caused by sharp thing but have a good attitude about adding more knowledge and methods to handle injuries.
