Abstract

Objective: Analyzing some factors related to non-motor symptoms in people with moderate and severe Parkinson's disease. Subjects and methods: We researched non-motor symptoms in 93 Parkinson's patients who were treated at Bach Mai Hospital Neurological Center from August 2022 to August 2023. Results: Some factors, such as age over 70, disease severity at stage 3 or higher, are associated with an increased risk of orthostatic hypotension, sleep disorders, difficulty concentrating and forgetting, drooling, constipation, and sexual difficulty swallowing (p<0.05). The duration of disease from 5 years on is related to the risk of depression, constipation, swallowing disorders, and urination disorders (p<0.05). There has been no relationship between gender and non-motor symptoms in Parkinson's patients. Conclusion: Patients with Parkinson's disease are often older and have a longer disease duration, and the more severe the disease is, the more non-motor symptoms affect quality of life.
