Abstract

Objectives: Evaluate the current status of soft tissue wound care at the Department of Trauma Surgery, Nga Son General Hospital, Thanh Hoa province.. Subjects and Method: Retrospective descriptive study conducted on 100 patients during the period from March 1, 2020 to June 30, 2020 at Nga Son General Hospital, Thanh Hoa province. Results: The ratio of men is higher than that of women: 1.85 men/1 woman; The age group most affected is 31-50 (43%); The majority of causes are traffic accidents 37% and work accidents 25%. Wounds are treated early (before 6 hours) after the accident occurs, 82% of the time. Usually 26% of the injuries are crushing. The main measures to heal wounds early are: Changing bandages and washing wounds according to sterile procedures (97%), Early debridement (98%), Removing all fluid and pus in the wound (96%). The wound dries after 7 days (92%), infection accounts for 2%. After 7 days, the patient can move actively. Conclusions: Soft tissue wound care at the Trauma Surgery Department of Nga Son General Hospital, Thanh Hoa province is quite good with a low infection rate. However, there are still some shortcomings in wound care skills that need to be improved.
