CURRENT STATUS OF ANXIETY, STRESS AND DEPRESSION OF HEALTHCARE WORKERS PARTICIPATING IN THE PREVENTION OF THE COVIDD 19 EPIDEMIC IN SOME HOSPITALS IN HANOI IN 2020

Abstract

Objectives: To examine the rate of anxiety, stress and depression among healthcare workers participating in the COVID-19 epidemic prevention/control at some hospitals in Hanoi in 2020. Method: Using a set of tools evaluated according to the DASS 21 scale (Depression – Anxiety – Stress Scale) to examine the status of anxiety, stress and depression of 87 healthcare workers participating in screening patients with signs of acute respiratory infection (COVID-19) and medical staff treat and care for COVID-19. Results: There are 10.3% of healthcare workers participating in epidemic prevention/control have at least one symptom of mental disorder (anxiety, stress, depression). There is only one symptom of either anxiety, or stress or depression. There are 2 symptoms and all 3 symptoms of anxiety, stress, and depression are 4.6%. The rate of stress of research subjects with mild and severe levels was equivalent to 2.3%, moderate level was higher than 3.4%, and there were no signs of very severe stress. The proportion of healthcare workers with moderate depression is 4.6%, and very severe is 1.1%. Conclusion: The percentage of healthcare workers participating in COVID-19 epidemic prevention at some hospitals participating in the study showing signs of anxiety, stress and depression was 19.5%, 8% and 5.7%, respectively.
