SITUATION OF REASONABLE ANTIBIOTIC USE IN INPATIENT TREATMENT AT VINH LONG GENERAL HOSPITAL IN 2023

Abstract
Objective: describe the current situation and learn about some factors affecting the management and appropriate use of antibiotics in inpatient treatment at Vinh Long General Hospital in 2023. Method: research design Cross-sectional, combining quantitative and qualitative, conducted a survey of 352 medical records with antibiotic use and inpatient treatment for 3 days or more at clinical departments from January 2023 to September 2023. Results: Rate of appropriate antibiotic use: 59.09%. The initial antibiotic dose is 94.03% reasonable, the maintenance dose is 91.19%. The reasonable dose interval is 66.76%. There is an association between age (p= 0.000) and kidney function (p=0.032) with appropriate antibiotic use. Conclusion: Prescription of antibiotics in inpatient treatment is based on the patient's age and medical condition.
