Abstract

Objectives: Evaluate the quality of life of children with atopic dermatitis based on the Children's Dermatology Life Quality Index (CDLQI) for children >4 years old. Methods: Cross-sectional study on 102 children >4 years old with atopic dermatitis at Children's Hospital 1, Children's Hospital 2 and City Children's Hospital. Results: Median CDLQI score was 6 (interquartile range 4-9), 46,1% of children >4 years old had their quality of life affected, of which 16.7% of children had their quality of life seriously affected. The components with the highest scores of the CDLQI are itchy feeling, "scratchy" 2 (1-2) points, sleep impact 1(0-2) points and treatment problem 1(1-1) points, the lowest is personal relationship impact 0 (0-0) points. Conclusion: Atopic dermatitis significantly affected the quality of life of children >4 years old with atopic dermatitis at Children's hospitals. The CDLQI index provides a detailed and comprehensive assessment of pediatric patients' quality of life, helping attending doctor to monitor the treatment effectiveness.
