Abstract

Central venous catheters are very useful tools in clinical medicine. This is important not only for infusions and history drug use but is also important in measuring hemodynamic variables, especially in patients receiving special care or complicate surgery. Central venous catheterization is a relatively safe procedure but can sometimes cause dangerous complications, such as pneumothorax, hemothorax, pericardial effusion, cardiac tamponade, sepsis. We report a case of right-sided pleural effusion after hepatectomy due to central venous catheter complications.
