Abstract

Objective: Describe the quality of life of patients before and after anal fistula surgery using the QoLAF-Q toolkit at Saint Paul General Hospital, Hanoi in 2023. Subjects and methods: Using a descriptive design of a series of 113 anal fistula patients who came for examination, surgery and treatment at Saint Paul General Hospital from February 2023 to the end of September 2023. Results: Factors such as frequency rate and quantity of fluid and pus; The frequency of pain and pain level after surgery decreased compared to before surgery, which was statistically significant. The impact of fistula on general health, physical health, psychology, travel, work, social relationships, sex, and other aspects 3 months after surgery is reduced compared to before surgery, statistically significant (p<0.05). Conclusion: There is a clear improvement in quality of life after surgery compared to before anal fistula surgery
