Abstract

Objectives: Description of clinical, paraclinical characteristics and surgical results of patients with congenital penile curvature treated by Yachia technique at Viet Duc University Hospital in the period 2018-2023. Methods: A descriptive study on 70 patients diagnosed with congenital penile curvature who were surgical treated with penile curvature correction applying the Yachia technique at the Andrology Center – Viet Duc University Hospital. Results: The patients group had an average age of 26,6 ± 7,24 (year). Cosmetic reason is the chief complaint (78,57%). The average penile curvature pre-operation is 45,13 ± 11,26⁰. Paraclinical test was not play a significant role in evaluation and diagnosis. The average penile curvature post-operation is 7 ±6,86⁰. Penile shortening is common after surgery, with an average decrease in penis length of 1.4 ± 0.3cm. Post-care follow-up, most patients improve their penile function related to intercourse, and most patients are completely safe after surgery and they were satisfied with the surgery also by 93,2%. Conclusion: Congenital curvature of the penis is a rare condition, it is often discovered late after adulthood but seriously affects psychology and function. Yachia technique is easy to perform, has high success rate, high satisfaction to patients as well and few complications.
