Abstract

Objective: Assess the nutritional status of patients before and after colorectal cancer surgery treated at Viet Duc Friendship Hospital. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 86 colorectal cancer patients at Viet Duc Friendship Hospital from May 2023 to March 2024. Results: The rate of malnutrition in patients before surgery according to BMI was 24.42% after surgery. The difference was statistically significant p<0.05, the risk of malnutrition according to PG-SGA before surgery was 73.26% after surgery. is 83.72% statistically significant difference p<0.05. The rate of weight loss <10% accounts for 45.35%, weight loss ≥10% accounts for 3.49%. Conclusion: Evaluating nutritional status is mandatory before introducing a nutritional intervention regimen.
