Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the surgical results of ectopic pregnancy treatment at the Obstetrics Department of Buu DienHospital. Subjects and methods: A retrospective study on 151 patients with ectopic pregnancy were treated by surgery at Obstetrics Department of Buu Dien Hospita from October 2021 to December 2022. Results: Of these, 38% were assisted reproductive technology, 50.3 had a parauterine mass, 38.4% had equisite pain in the Pouch of Douglas, 60.9% had preoperative βhCG under 5000 mUI/m. 3.3% had images of both intrauterine and ectopic pregnancy related to assisted reproductive technology. 33.7% had typical parauterine mass, 15.2% mass had postive fetal cardiac activity. The incidence of mass at ampullary segment was 71.7%. 76.5% were treated by tubal resection containing the fetal mass. The length of admission was mainly below 3 days (84.8%). Conclusion: The position of ectopic pregancy mass was mainly in the ampullary segment of the fallopian tube and most were treated by laparoscopic salpingectomy. The mean hospital stay duration of patients treated with laparoscopic surgery were shorter than those with laparotomy surgery
