Abstract

Objective: Evaluate treatment results in small cell lung cancer patients at the Oncology Center - Thai Nguyen Central Hospital in the period of 2018 - 2022. Methods: Retrospective study of 37 small cell lung cancer patients treated at the Oncology Center from January 2018 to December 2022. Record information about some clinical and paraclinical characteristics, stages, response rates, and toxicity rates of chemotherapy. Results: Most common age: 60 - 69, accounting for 43.2%. Common reasons for hospitalization are chest pain (37.8%), and persistent cough (27%). The general condition index of patients is PS 0 - 1 mainly (86.5%), PS = 2: 13.5%. Patients with extensive stage account for 86.5%, patients with limited stage take  up 13.5%. The largest number of patients treated with the Etoposide - Cisplatin regimen is 48.6% and the Etoposide - Carboplatin regimen is 24.3%. The response rate of treatment after 6 cycles reached 16.2%, of which partial response accounted for 13.5% and complete response accounted for 2.7%. Toxicity on the hematopoietic system: neutropenia was 59.5%, of which level 3 was 13.5%. Nausea and vomiting are mainly level 1, 2, accounting for 56.7%, and level 3 accounting for 10.8%. Diarrheal is mainly grade 1, 2 which accounts for 43.2%. Peripheral nerve toxicity accounts for 24.3%.
