Abstract

Objectives: To describe knowledge about standard precaution and some associated factors among final year students of Viet Nam University of traditional medicine & pharmacy, in 2023. Subjects and methods: We conducted a study among 400 the final year students of Viet Nam University of traditional medicine & pharmacy, from August 2023 to December 2023. Results: The results show that the proportion of students with knowledge of standard precautions is 75,6%. In particular, knowledge of hand washing and safe injection was scored the highest. There is a relationship between training majors and received prior standard precaution material with standard precautions knowledge status. The traditional medicine students was under 0.87 times less likely to achieve a higher standard precaution compared to medical students. Students who received documents on standard precaution in the past were over 1,4 times more likely to achieve a higher standard precaution than those who did not receive documents about standard precaution. Conclusions: Medical universities should incorporate standard prevention programs for all disciplines in their clinical training with a handout approach, selfreading for students.
