Abstract

Objective: evaluate the quality of life of benign prostatic hyperplasia patients undergone laparoscopy using the SF - 36 scale at Nam Dinh General Hospital in 2023. Methods: Cross-sectional description of quality of life of 83 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia undergone laparoscopy. Results: The mean age was 62.3 ± 4.3 years; The mean duration of illness was 20.6 ± 5.2 months; The mean prostate tumor weight was 62.7 ± 6.5 grams; The mean physical health score of patients after surgery was 77.7 ± 2.6 points; Classification of physical health scores post operation: Good was 62.7%, Average was 37.3%; The mean score of the mental health group post operation was 80.8 ± 8.6 points; Classification of mental health scores post operation: Good was 77.1%, Average was 22.9%; Classification of quality of life post operation: Good was 74.7%, Average was 25.3%. Conclusion: Results of post-operative quality of life research on 83 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia treated with laparoscopy showed good results was 74.7%, and average was 25.3%
