Abstract

Objective: Evaluate the results of treatment of acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in cancer patients with rivaroxaban. Research subjects and methods: Cross-sectional study on 45 cancer patients with acute VTE, treated at the Emergency and Intensive Care Department – Vietnam National Cancer Hospital, from March 2020 to September 2020. Results: Common symptoms are edema (95.6%); hot pain (86.7%); Significantly reduced after treatment: edema (15.5%), hot pain (6.7%). Size of lower limb before treatment: thigh (52.3 ± 15.7 cm), caft (28.5 ± 12.8 cm); Reduced after treatment: thigh (41.2 ± 10.4 cm), caft (20.4 ± 10.6 cm). The rate of no recurrence of thrombosis at 1 month follow-up was 82.3%. The bleeding rate during treatment is 11.1% minor bleeding, no major bleeding. D-Dimer levels before and after treatment decreased significantly (6597.4 ± 4503.8 and 1270.3 ± 1490.5). Conclusion: The patient's physical and laboratory symptoms improved significantly after treatment with rivaroxaban, the rate of no recurrence of thrombosis after treatment was high, and side effects were low.
