Abstract

Objectives: Comparing the effectiveness of diquafosol 3% and sodium hyaluronate 0.1% in treating dry eyes Subjects and methods: Clinical intervention, with control group on patients diagnosed with dry eyes from March 2023 to October 2023 at Nghe An Eye Hospita Results: After 1 month and 3 months, the OSDI index of both groups decreased with statistical significance compared to before treatment, the group treated with diquafosol had a more significant decrease, the difference was statistically significant. TBUT index improved gradually after each treatment period in both groups with statistical significance. The rate of BUT in the incremental diquafosol treatment group was 17.40% - 35.53% - 38.46%, in the sodium hyaluronate group 25.81% - 33.77% - 35.67%, The diquafosol treatment group tended to improve TBUT values more than the sodium hyaluronate group, the difference was not statistically significant. The diquafosol group, the Schimer test value increased with statistical significance at 1 month and 3 months of treatment compared to before treatment; for the sodium hyaluronate group, the Schimer test increased without statistical significance compared to before treatment. treatment. In the diquafosol treatment group, the adverse effects recorded in the first week of treatment were 8.33% higher than the sodium hyaluronate treatment group and still persisted after 3 months of treatment.
