Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aimed to identify the prevalence and associated factors of controlled hypertension among hypertensive outpatients. From March to June 2022, a total of 461 hypertensive outpatients at Gia Đinh General Hospital were interviewed using a structured questionnaire on several aspects of treatment adherence. Adherence was 96.5% for medication usage, 31.0% for DASH diet adherence, 69,4% for physical activity, 88.3% for smoking, 67.5 % for weight management, 87% for alcohol. Factors associated with controlled hypertension included medication adherence, physical activity, weight management, and re-examination adherence. Controlled hypertension was significantly associated with medication adherence, physical activity adherence, and weight management adherence. As the percentage of DASH diet adherence is low, there is a need to improve guidance and support strategies for hypertension patients to increase Dash diet adherence
