SERUM LEVEL OF ADIPONECTIN AND ASSOCIATED FACTORS IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC URTICARIA
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: To investigate the serum level of Adiponectin and related factors with the clinical manifestations in patients with chronic urticaria. Subject and method: A case series study was conducted on 40 patients with chronic urticaria at the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital of Dermato-Venereology in 2019-2020 and 20 healthy people in the control group. Result: The median age of chronic urticaria was 32 years. The median age of onset for chronic urticaria was 30 years. Patients with chronic urticaria had a median UAS7 score of 21,5 points. The median serum level of Adiponectin in chronic urticaria patients was 4480ng/ml (interquartile range 3307,5-6050ng/ml) and in the control group was 5110ng/ml (interquartile range 3432,5-7172,5ng/ml). The median serum level of Adiponectin in chronic urticaria patients with BMI ≥ 23kg/m2 was 3720ng/ml (interquartile range 2980-5205ng/ml) and in chronic urticaria patients with BMI < 23kg/m2 was 5230ng/ml (interquartile range 4320-6480ng/ml). The median serum level of Adiponectin in male patients with chronic urticaria was 3390ng/ml (interquartile range 2535-4720ng/ml) and in female patients with chronic urticaria was 5270ng/ml (interquartile range 4010-6760ng/ml). Conclusion: The serum level of Adiponectin in chronic urticaria patients group had no statistically significant difference with the control group. The serum level of Adiponectin in male patients group with chronic urticaria was statistically significant lower than female patients group. The serum level of Adiponectin in chronic urticaria patients group with BMI ≥ 23kg/m2 was statistically significant lower than chronic urticaria patients group with BMI <23kg/m2, idicating a potential marker to evaluate metabolic syndrome in chronic urticaria patients
