Abstract

Objectives: Describe clinical characteristics and methods of imaging and cystoscopy in diagnosing anal atrophy and rectourethral fistula in children. Patients and methods: Descriptive study of case series. Results:  From April 2017 to April 2020, there were 52 patients with rectourethral fistula including 25/52 (48.1%) cases of rectourethral prostatic fistula (ND-TLT) and 27/ 52(51.9%) cases of rectobulbar urethral fistula (ND Hanh) were diagnosed at the surgical department of the National Children's Hospital. Research shows that clinical signs of meconium in the urine account for 53.8% of patients. In 44.2% of cases, the fistula path was determined by distal colostography. Voiding cystourethrography during urination has a fistula detection rate of 45,1%. Cystoscopy has the highest fistula detection rate, 92,3%. Conclusion: Urethrocystoscopy has the highest value in identifying rectourethral fistula in children.
