THE COMPLIANCE OF ORAL CARE PROTOCOL IN INVASIVELY VENTILATED PATIENTS AT THE CENTER FOR CRITICAL CARE MEDICINE OF BACH MAI HOSPITAL

Abstract
Objectives: To sssess the level of compliance with oral hygiene protocol in invasively ventilated patients at the Center for Critical Care Medicine – Bach Mai Hospital. Method: A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out on 56 nurses with 298 oral hygiene procedures on invasively ventilated patients at the Center for Critical Care Medicine - Bach Mai Hospital from August 2023 to June 2024. Results: The ratio of female/male nurses was 2/1, average age was 31.82±6.73 years old, among those, 57.1% were between 25 and 35 years old. The average score of oral hygiene procedures: 27.28±1.99 points which the age group from 28 – 29 scored the highest at 56.7%. The overall compliance rate was 76.8%, patient and nursing preparation steps reached over 90%, oral hygiene steps reached 100%, and medical record recording steps reached 91.3%. Conclusion: The level of compliance with the oral care process at the Intensive Care Center - Bach Mai Hospital is relatively high. In the oral care process, all oral care steps are guaranteed with a high compliance rate
