RESULTS OF LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY OF KIDNEY CANCER PATIENTS AT SAINT PAUL HOSPITAL

Abstract

Objective: Evaluate the result of kidney cancer patients undergone laparoscopic surgery at Saint Paul hospital from 2019-2023. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study of 73 kidney cancer patients were treated with laparoscopic surgery from  2019-2013. Results: - Laparoscopic retroperitoneal nephrectomy showed good results on localized stage kidney, was 89%. - The rate of complications during surgery was 6.8%. - Average amount of blood loss: 235±102ml. - Average surgery time: 106.7 ± 24.1 minutes. - Average hospital stay: 6.2±1.7 days. - Clavien-Dindo classification postoperative complications was with 8 patients. Conclusion: Laparoscopic surgery to treat kidney cancer is a safe and effective method with low rates of complications and short hospital stay after surgery
