Abstract

Hypertension and type 2 diabetes mellitus are common diseases in the group of non-communicable diseases and are continuing to increase in the world. Hypertension and diabetes are among the leading causes of death in the world. The prevalence and disease burden of hypertension and diabetes in Vietnam are increasing. Many studies show significant decline in quality of life (QoL) in patients with comorbidity hypertension and diabetes. However, the quality of life (QoL) of patients has not been given due attention. Cross-sectional descriptive study using the SF-36 questionnaire was conducted on out-patients with co-morbidity hypertension and type 2 diabetes at Can Tho City Cardiovascular Hospital, 2021. There were 310 out-patients participating in the study. The QoL of patients with comorbidity hypertension and type 2 diabetes reached an average level in the field of physical health. The older group, people with low education level were groups that need priority attention to improve physical health quality.
