Abstract

Objective: Describe the status of patient’s relative awareness and the association between stroke and patient's onset- to- door time. Methods: Cross sectional study on 99 patient’s relatives, using a questionnaire. Results: The proportion of participants has awareness about risk factors is 45.45%, FAST warning signs is 41.41% and first aid is 40.40%. Relatives with awareness about FAST warning signs and first aid may reduce 4.52 and 5.2- fold with groups without awareness. Education level, accommodations, and awareness of risk factors are related to awareness of FAST warning signs and stroke first aid. Conclusion: The proportion of participants have awareness about risk factors, FAST warning signs, and first aid is still low. The patient's onset- to- door time tends to reduce when the patient's relative had awareness about stroke
