POSTPARTUM KNOWLEDGE OF PREGNANT WOMEN AFTER GIVING BIRTH AT HANOI OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY HOSPITAL

Abstract
Objective: Evaluate knowledge about the postpartum period of pregnant women after giving birth. Research subjects and methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on a total of 369 postpartum women at Hanoi Obstetrics Hospital based on a developed questionnaire. The results will be synthesized and analyzed using statistical software. Results: Through interviews with 369 pregnant women, the age group 20 - 39 accounted for the highest percentage, the main occupation was civil servants with more than 85% education level being from high school or higher; Only 24.9% of women giving birth for the first time, 39% of women giving birth naturally. The main sources of information are family records, books and prenatal counseling programs. 61% of pregnant women have satisfactory knowledge about postpartum physiology, of which physiological signs, danger signs, and breastfeeding have a high passing rate. Regarding postpartum care, issues related to living space, hygiene, and nutritional supplementation are also concerned with a rate of over 60%, the total knowledge rate is 60.7%. Conclusion: The rate of pregnant women correctly understanding postpartum physiology is quite high, especially danger signs and breastfeeding; Postpartum care issues are also of great concern such as hygiene, exercise and nutritional supplementation.
