Abstract

Background: During IVF, women have to undergo a lot of pressure and psychological burden, which dramatically affects the emotions in this group. Evaluating relevant factors is valuable in predicting the risk of depression in this group, therefore early predicting and interventing for high-risk subjects. Objectives: To evaluate some factors related to depressive disorders in IVF patients. Subjects And Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 189 infertility patients treated with in vitro fertilization at the National Reproductive Center from October 2020 to March 2021,  using the PHQ-9 rating scale and clinical examination. Results: There was a relationship between the rate of depression and factors related to the failure of previous IUI, IVF treatment, no children at the time of treatment, patient age, duration of assisted reproductive treatment, and duration of treatment, expecting time with statistically significant results (p<0.05). No association was found between the cause of infertility, problems with miscarriage, and previous abortions with depression. Conclusion: Early and appropriate interventions are necessary for subjects at high risk of depression.
