Abstract

Objective: Comments on the initial pain and satisfaction of patients after rubber band ligation at Outpatient Clinic & Day Care Center - Bach Mai Hospital. Materials and Methods: Patients underwent hemorrhoid banding at Outpatient Clinic & Day Care Center - Bach Mai Hospital from November 2023 to March 2024. Prospective descriptive study. Result: Out of 67 patients, 14.9% (10/67) of patients had no pain after rubber band ligation; 38.8% (26/67) of patients with mild pain only needed to soak in warm water without using painkillers; 31.4% (21/67) of patients had moderate pain, lasting 3-6 days after the procedure; 14.9% (10/67) of patients had severe pain after hemorrhoid ligation. After 6 days of hemorrhoid ligation, 79.1% (59/67) of patients no longer had pain symptoms. Rectal bleeding occurred with 15/67 patients (22.4%), starting from 2^nd day ± 1.9, lasting 1.9 ± 0.9 days.  59.7% (40/67) of patients were satisfied after 10 days of hemorrhoid ligation at Outpatient.
