PRELIMINARY RESULTS OF ONE-STAGE SURGERY TREATMENT OF CHRONIC OSTEOMYELITIS USING CALCIUM HYDROXYAPATITE IMPREGNATED WITH ANTIBIOTIC: A CASE SERIES
Main Article Content
Abstract
Chronic osteomyelitis is a complex disease and difficult to treat. The effectiveness of two-stage surgery with the first stage of debridement and antibiotic-loaded PMMA cement, the second stage of cement removal and bone grafting has been reported in many studies, but there are still some disadvantages. We performed one-stage surgery for a series of 3 patients with chronic osteomyelitis using calcium hydroxyapatite impregnated with antibiotic. All 3 patients showed preliminary safe and effective results.
