Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: Evaluation of outcomes with adjuvant therapy after radical prostatectomy in high risk localized and locally advanced prostate cancer. Patients and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 61 patients with adjuvant therapy after radical prostatectomy in high risk localized and locally advanced prostate cancer in Vietnam National Cancer Hospital from January 2018 through December 2023. Results: A total of 61 patients with high-risk and locally advanced prostate cancer underwent radical prostatectomy and postoperative adjuvant treatment. The average follow-up time was 35.8 months. Adjuvant therapies after surgery are ADT accounting for 34.4%, radiotherapy 13.1%, ADT + radiotherapy 52.5%. The overall survival rate after 18 months was 96.3%. The metastasis free survival after 12 months is 97.6%, after 18 months is 90.1%, after 24 months is 84.8%, after 36 months is 77.1%. Conclusion: Adjuvant treatment after radical prostatectomy in high risk and locally advanced patients reduces the risk of biochemical recurrence, increases overall survival and progression free survival. Multimodal therapies in this group of patients improve the effectiveness and quality of treatment.
