Abstract

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic degenerative joint disease characterized by pain and progressive functional limitation. Intra-articular hyaluronic acid (HA) injections includes: Regenflex Bio-Plus(RBP): one - time single injection and Go-on: three to five injections spaced a week apart are a proven treatment to reduce pain and improve movement function. Methods: A 3-month controlled clinical trial study in 63 patients with primary knee osteoarthritis divided into 2 groups: 37 patients received RBP injection and 26 patients received Go-on injection, both groups were combined combination of NSAIDS and SYSADOA. Results: At the 2nd and 3rd month after injection, the RBP intra-articular injection group had a better improvement in VAS and WOMAC scores than the Go-on group. The average VAS score decreased from 5.41 points to 2.7, the average WOMAC score decreased from 30.92 to 12.13 in the RBP group; while in the group of patients with Go-on injection, the VAS score decreased from 5.19 to 3.31, the WOMAC score decreased from 28 to 16.26, statistically significantly lower than the RBP injection group. Some side effects of the RBP injection group include: temporary pain or swelling in the knee joint, rarely dizziness. Conclusion: Intra-articular injection with RBP were effective and achieved patient satisfaction better than Go-on.
