RESULTS OF BOTULINUM TOXIN GROUP A INJECTION COMBINED WITH PHYSICAL THERAPY IN LOWER LIMB REHABILITATION IN PATIENTS WITH STROKE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: Evaluation of the results of Botulinum toxin group A injection combined with physical therapy in lower limb rehabilitation in stroke patients. Subjects and Methods: 40 patients were diagnosed with hemiplegia due to stroke with moderate or severe lower limb spasticity, using MAS to assess spasticity, using Tinetti to measure balance and gait, using Time up and go to assess mobility and risk of falling, using 10 meter walk test to assess walking speed, using LEFS to assess lower limb function. Results: At 1 month and 3 months after treatment, the LEFS, balance, speed, TUGT and MAS improved significantly compared to baseline (p<0.05). Conclusions: Botulinum toxin group A injection combined with physical therapy significantly improves lower limb motor function, gait, and spasticity after stroke.
