Abstract
Objective: Survey the use of drugs to treat anemia and evaluate the effectiveness of drugs to treat anemia in patients with end-stage chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis at Nghe An General Hospital in 2023. Research subjects: Medical records of patients diagnosed with end-stage chronic kidney disease on outpatient hemodialysis and prescribed drugs to treat anemia. Research method: Cross-sectional descriptive method. Research results: Study on 76 medical records of patients with end-stage chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis. The proportion of patients prescribed Erythropoietin 100%, iron 92.1%. Of which, 100% used Erythropoietin alfa, prepared in solution, intravenously. The most commonly used dose of Erythropoietin is 6000 IU/week, accounting for 64.5%. The most commonly used dose of iron is 300 mg/month. Regarding the effectiveness of using the drug to treat anemia in patients with end-stage chronic kidney disease on dialysis: there was an increase in Hb, Hct, mean red blood cell count, mean iron and ferritin concentrations before and after 6 months of treatmen
