EVALUATION OF CLINICAL AND RADIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PATIENTS WITH PARTIAL TOOTH LOSS OVER SIX MONTHS AT DENTAL TREATMENT CENTERS IN HA NOI

Abstract

Objectives: Describe the clinical and radiological characteristics of patients with partial tooth loss over six months at High-Tech Dental Center 225 Trương Chinh - Ha Noi Medical University and Implant Department - National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 23 patients over the age of 18 years old (30,4% male and 69,6% female) with 28 partial tooth loss over six months who have treatment need of dental implant restorations. Results: the study showed that the average age of the subjects were 46,87 ±15,56 years old. The main sites of tooth loss were posteriors (67,9%) with the most common causes of tooth decay and pulp disease (57,1%) and the losing teeth duration over 60 months (53,6%). The bone density was mainly D3 (92,9%). The average bone width was 3,19 ± 1,43 mm and the average bone high was 14,09 ± 2,53 mm. Conclusion: The anatomical characteristics of the maxillary and mandibular were reduced when tooth loss over six months. Bone resorption has been reported that cause difficulty in stability of implant placement, so it is indicated treatment dental implant with guided bone regeneration.
